These are very new and very different. You may have seen bench dining tables before - they are great for compact dining and kitchen rooms alike - but these do something that is really rather good. It is a bit like a recliner seater and a dining bench - the arm move up and down and a back rest moves up and back - allowing for those special reclining and supportive moments!

Includes different shapes and configurations to suit your space.

Tables come in a number of woods.

Extending table versions also available.

Four different ranges are available, coming in a range of solid woods including solid alder wood, solid beech wood, solid cherry wood and solid walnut wood (the choice of which is dependent on each range).Gloriously crafted to the highest modern standards, they also are metal free - something that encourages better sleeping.They really are well worth a visit.Available for viewing from our London (Shoreditch) showroom. Solid Wood wardrobes

We have been very busy at Wharfside and are now taking orders for our new, exclusive luxury modern bedroom wardrobes.

Sumptuously crafted in solid wood, the wardrobes come in a variety of styles. But as you can see in these photographs, the luxury isn’t just on the outside, but also on the inside. Everything is gloriously finished, including pull down clothes rails - making them easier to access, and right down to the branded leather pull straps on the box tidies.

You will be hard pressed to find something nicer… indeed, we haven’t…

Organic Furniture

It would be lovely to be able to call furniture ‘organic’ wouldn’t it. Unfortunately there is no such thing at the moment. One of the main principles of FSC certification is the securing of a sustainable forestry. FSC and the European PEFC are certification systems that, from forestry to furniture industry, wood from sustainable forestry is used. The weak point in the system is the certification of forest holdings. Only a small, one percent of forest and timber companies can actually verify an FSC certificate.Companies like Team7 set themselves a target to only use wood from sustainable forestry, which means that forestry is clearly regulated and controlled by the legislation of the particular country. For this reason Team7 does not use tropical timber.Team7 goes even further by gaining the Austrian Eco-label award. This covers a whole range of further criteria including ensuring glues are not toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic or teratogenic. This is currently about as close to ‘organic furniture‘ as there is.

New Modern Furniture

This week we have revamped the modern furniture part of our website. Wharfside has some of the most beautiful pieces of modern furniture you will ever have cast your eyes upon. Showing this on a web page is like seeing a ‘dinky’ car and thinking it is the same as the real thing. But we always try to improve and show you just how lovely the furniture is.

We have extended our website to cover much more of our modern furniture - now you can see modern dining tables, modern cabinets, modern coffee tables, modern home office desks and modern home entertainment units.

We hope you enjoy them… but do come in a have a look for yourselves… you won’t regret it.

New Ellipse Plage table in solid oiled oak

Shoreditch store has just received the new ‘ellipse’ shape Plage table in solid oiled oak. (I think an ellipse is when it’s curved all the way around and it’s oval if it’s curved at the end only - but I’m very happy to be corrected. Anyway it has a central metal foot and I’ll see it on the showroom floor either tomorrow of Friday - but for sure you can come in and take a look this Sunday. If memory serves it’s 300 x 130 and the price is just over £4800.

The Hai chairs in walnut are out of stock until end October - sorry.

Sale Over

Thank goodness the summer sale is finished for 2007.

We really sold a great deal of furniture this year and took orders from customers as far afield as Peterborough and Liverpool, Cardiff and Folkestone.

But next year 4 weeks is going to be quite enough - please remind me nearer the time!

Sale ending 2nd September

The summer sale finishes Sunday week - 2nd September. There are still a few ‘clearance items‘ left in both stores - that translates as big discounts!

Also you can still buy a Denmark or Aarhus dining set (in solid teak and solid oak respectively) or a Sophie sofa set all at around 30% less than the price we offer them at most of the year. After 2nd September, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait!

We can even deliver to Scotland!

We’ve made an excellent arrangement with the famous Scottish removals company Shore Porters who are based in Aberdeen and have been established even longer than Wharfside - they were founded in 1498, so my guess is they know what they’re up to. The arrangement is that they will handle most of our UK deliveries a bit further afield than Debra and Laurie can usually accommodate. The cost is about £150. So, if you live near to Aberdeen and fancy a new solid oak or walnut or teak dining suite then you need look no further than Wharfside!
